My name is Kai-Chun Hung, a junior year student major in the Department of Management Science of National Chiao Tung University. I’m outgoing and positive, but also keen to challenge all kinds of unknown things. I think I have a lot of ideas and the courage to realize them. Math and numbers have fascinated me since my childhood, and I am strongly interested in any issue associated with money. My college major has helped me learn about accounting, management, statistics, and related fields. I hope that this internship can help me understand better about how firm put theory into practical use when dealing with their business.
During summer vacation my sophomore year, I had the privilege to enter the marketing department of SAS as an intern. During the internship, I helped the company promote commercial competition with TSMC, and also designed the campaign posters. Finally, I successfully recruited more than 500 participants, far exceeding the expected number of applicants. I helped to organize a number of workshops, learning to receive potential target customers. This also gave me a strong interest in marketing, and desire to better understand the operation of the marketing department.
Basketball was always my love since I was a kid, from class competitions in elementary school to joining my department’s team. Competing with other players gave me an enthusiastic love of the sport. I have tried hockey, ping-pong, and swimming as well, I am open to all things sports.
Club events in my senior high were my favorite things, whether it was our charity events or annual presentations. I attended two department camps to prepare with other members, with hundreds of people attending. I was in charge of getting funds from companies and stores around the school. This definitely sharpened my social skills and made me aware of all the details you should notice when planning for an event.
Two of my greatest virtues have always been curiosity, and a thirst for knowledge. I’d love a chance to show what I’d bring to the table as an intern. I can’t wait to see what kind of experience and skills I could gain at firm.
