  • Currently working in the Department of Market Monitoring. My team focuses on analyzing new market policy, especially with regards to decarbonization, renewable integration, and storage. 
  • I work with data everyday, cleaning and integrating new data sources, as well as maintaining and coming up with new analysis on existing data.
  • I'm most passionate about projects related to renewable integration, burgeoning decarbonization technologies, and building optimization models, all of which I've I the opportunity to work in this role.

  • Seed is a venture capital-backed commodity exchange start-up.
  • I manage and monitor the trading platform, including servers and data-centers and automated surveillance of trading activity.
  • Worked with futures, options and swaps data. I use VBA and Python to write risk assessment and data analysis tools that help Seed understand market conditions and problems.
  • I assisted or led in the drafting of many of the company's foundational documents: the exchange rule book, market design, surveillance practices, corporate compliance documents, et al.

  • I monitored electricity and natural gas futures markets (financial derivatives, physically delivered futures, swaps and options) for exchange rule violations and overall market stability.
  • My everyday tasks involved statistical modeling, data management, anomaly detection making charts and graphs and pulling data from various sources using APIs.
  • Worked daily in python (pandas, numpy, et al.), VBA and Business Objects.
  • I contributed to several energy related policy initiatives and traveled frequently to present and discuss those projects with federal regulators and other corporations. 
  • Created and supervised the implementation of reports to disseminate energy market information company-wide. Reports included data analysis, visualizations and written narratives on market conditions.

  • I created anomaly detection algorithms and economic analysis to monitor the health of electricity and natural gas markets nationwide. 
  • Developed strategies to identify and prevent market power abuses, gaming and other non-compliance with market rules. 
  • Provided statistical and analytic support for enforcement cases, including market manipulation cases.
  • I worked to develop a deep understanding of energy trading and transaction analysis. Especially with regard to market rules and supply/demand fundamentals. 
  • Worked daily in a large relational database using SAS.
  • I also interned in the Division of Energy Market Oversight during the summer of 2010.
