My name is Chen Jou-Yu (Vera). I’m from New Taipei City and graduated from the Department of Applied English, National Chin-Yi University of Technology. My parents are office workers who are extremely busy at work, and my sister is 7 years younger than me. So I took care of myself since I was young, and took care of my sister after middle school. Perhaps for this reason, I became very independent and did many things by myself. When chatting with friends, I found that I had learned more things than others. My parents have always been open-minded, so the family atmosphere is happy. My sister and I will chat with our parents and ask for advice. Maybe for this reason, my personality is also very optimistic.
When I was in high school, because I was willing to interact with others, I participated in the department academy and served as the director of activities, hosted department activities, served as host, and sometimes assisted the school in organizing activities. When I saw that everyone was happy because of the activities I planned, I really felt a sense of accomplishment! I went to Taichung to study in college, and after a year of relaxation, I devoted myself to work in my sophomore year!
I majored in English in university. During the off-campus internship in the summer of my sophomore year, due to the department's regulations on finding English-related jobs, most of the class was restricted to supplementary education, so I went to “Joy English” as a teacher assistant before the start of the off-campus internship. This job is my first job. In 2 years, the other teacher assistants came and went. I taught 5 to 6 newcomers. I had a good time with my colleagues. In addition to teaching, I also completed the tasks assigned by the supervisor.
