Involved in various stages of product development: Requirements gathering, product design, software architecting, development and automating the production line.
Book Delivery Engine:
A book delivery engine, which enables the teacher to assign/de-assign the books (available in the institutes's content repository) to the students. Books are either side-loaded or downloaded based on the institutes's policy. Keys and licenses for the books are controlled by the content providers/publishers via Edutor portal.
Controlled Access And Mobile Device Management:
Tweaked default android and exposed a generic API to achieve device security. We were able to lock down the device completely, so that students can't install 3rd party applications or access unauthorised content on Edutor tablet. The API can be used to control network i.e.block/unblock internet traffic, install and remove applications and execute scripts from Edutor portal. We achieved the same functionality on BYOD devices by integrating vendor's MDM API with Edutor applications. Vendors include Samsung, Intel.
Edutor Secured Players:
Developed proprietary players to render encrypted content of different mime types (PDF, Video, Audio, SWF). We customised FFmpeg and dolphin players to encrypt and render audio/video files.
DRM & Key Revocation:
The rules-engine identify, track, authorize and restrict access to encrypted digital content. License for a particular content or a device can be revoked from the Edutor cloud at any point of time.
Mobile Learning Environment:
A secured and integrated platform on Android devices, which enables students to access and consume content. Content is side-loaded on the devices.
Integrated Formative Assessment System:
A complete assessment engine which covers 3Cs of assessment lifecycle viz. creation, consumption and correction. To add a fourth C this engine also provide “Comparison” of assessments to track students’ progress.
Porting Android To Devices:
It includes
- Porting Kernel add configurations, compile boot loader and kernel source for targetdevices.
- Porting Android - understand system requirements, configure and compile android sourcefor target devices
- Burn kernel and system images on the target platform
