Al Hartman is the Executive Chairman of Hartman Short Term Income Properties XX, Inc. and the founder of Hartman Income REIT Management, Inc. 

In 1983, Al Hartman founded Hartman Management and began to sponsor private real estate investment programs. Over the next 35 years, Hartman built Hartman Management into one of the leading commercial property management firms in Texas. He has sponsored 20 privately offered, and one publicly offered program that invested in commercial real estate in Houston, San Antonio, and Dallas, Texas.

In 1998, Al Hartman merged the Hartman real estate programs and formed Hartman Commercial Properties REIT (HCP REIT). He also served as CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors at HCP REIT until October 2006. In April 2008, he merged four of the five Hartman programs to form what is known today as Hartman Income REIT Management, Inc. Al Hartman oversees a staff of over 160 employees who collectively management more than 50 commercial properties encompassing over seven million square feet.

Mr. Hartman is a firm believer in working to glorify God in the work place and sharing God’s blessings is one of the core values honored at Hartman. Mr. Hartman supports various faith based organizations. He serves as Deacon at Second Baptist Church and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Houston Area Pastors Council and The Elijah Challenge Ministry. Additionally, Al Hartman participates as a member of the “C” club, Houston Breakfast Club, ADISSA-REIT Organization, REISA-REIT Organization, C-12 and Vision America. 

Al Hartman’s time in real estate, extensive charity, and ministry work have provided him with a broad range of experience in the private and nonprofit sector. With his knowledge and expertise, Hartman has developed HI-REIT as well as many other organizations in the past 35 years from the ground up.
