Alain Chica

Registered Nurse with More Than a Decade of Experience

The recipient of an associate of arts degree from Miami Dade College, Alain Chica completed the licensed practical nurse program at ECPI University in 2006 and began working the following year with Blue Ridge Healthcare Center. Since 2009, Alain Chica has worked at the Veteran Affairs (VA) Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina, where he cares for critically ill and elderly patients experiencing a variety of physical or behavioral illnesses. Beyond providing prescribed medical treatments, his responsibilities include documenting observations and assessments and collaborating with other health team members to ensure best patient outcomes. 

While working at the VA Medical Center, Alain Chica completed an associate degree in nursing at Excelsior College. A member of the North Carolina Nursing Association, he is now working toward earning a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of North Carolina, Wilmington. Mr. Chica also holds CPR and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification and is experienced in ECG, IV drug therapy management, and colostomy care.
