Freelance Content Manager, Writer, and Editor,    1997– Present

  • Worked with Food52.com to update meta-descriptions and SEO tags on site recipes using both their CMS and Google Sheets. Served as an editor for the 2019 ThisOldHouse.com content audit. 
  • Writer and editor for brands including AOL.com, Salon.com, Better Homes and Gardens, Family Circle, Good Housekeeping, House Beautiful, The New York Post, Redbook, Seventeen, and Woman’s Day.

Creative and Editorial Advisor, ChangingthePresent.org,   2017 – 2020

  • Created a fresh and contemporary aesthetic for ChangingthePresent.org, a pioneering nonprofit website and brand relaunch. 
  • Strategizing the inception of charitable verticals, including a site for the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation. 
  • Reporting directly to Co-Founder/CEO and advising him in all areas of content and brand strategy, art direction, customer satisfaction, and audience engagement.

  • Successfully launched a niche design business focusing on tabletop ceramics. 
  • Managed two online stores and social media, and garnered extensive editorial placement in publications including Lucky, Gourmet, Design Sponge, Domino, Real Simple, and the New York Times.  
  • Served as a juror for the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards.  

Author, The eBay Home Makeover (Watson-Guptill division of Crown Publishing),   2003 – 2004 

  • Book won in the Notable category of the Writers Notes™ Book Awards. 
  • Developed a book concept and proposal for this mass market decorating title. 
  • Served as producer, location scout, author, stylist, editor, and copywriter (including how-to project directions). Hired photographer and together mapped out content to shoot project in nine days

Executive Editor, Hachette Filipacchi Custom Publishing,   2002 – 2003

  • Oversaw the launch and first issues of All Woman magazine, a custom, branded women's lifestyle magazine for an international S&P 500 client. 
  • In charge of all entertaining, lifestyle, and DIY content. 
  • Sourced scouts to secure shoot locations across the country, booked food and prop stylists, and hired photographers.  

Senior Articles Editor, Rosie Magazine,    1997 – 2001

  • Conceived and assigned features, wrote copy, worked with art and photo departments for the launch and first year of Rosie magazine (formerly McCall's magazine). 

Editor, Woman’s Day Special Interest Publications,  1995-1997 

  • Responsible for the content, planning, execution, and editing of five branded-content shelter titles: Woman’s Day Christmas Crafts, Woman’s Day Weekend Crafts, Woman’s Day Weekend Projects, Woman’s Day Weekend Remodeling Projects, and Woman’s Day Weekend Decorating Projects.
