A sales professional in the hospitality industry for 20 years, Amber Birkeland began her career with Extended Stay Hotels, LLC. She entered the company as the Front Office Manager and worked her way up to General Manager and then Director of Sales. Effective in creating marketing and sales strategies, Amber Birkeland drew accounts away from competing companies and strengthened Extended Stay Hotels’ financial performance.


Subsequently named the Cluster Director of Sales for the Residence Inn & Courtyard by Marriott, a White Lodging Services company, Amber Birkeland secured the number one and number two spots on the STAR benchmarking report for her property's competitive set. She then went on to direct sales for the Hilton Garden Inn in St. George, Utah, in which position she drove consistent year-over-year growth in revenue per available room (RevPAR).


Subsequently named the Director of Sales and Marketing for White Lodging Services' Courtyard by Marriott at the Grand Wayne, Amber Birkeland received a Balanced Score Card Achievement Award in 2010 for her work in exceeding her sales target by 30 percent and her house target by 136 percent.


She went on to serve as the General Manager for RIM Hospitality's Hampton Inn & Suites in Elk Grove, California, and later held the same position with the Westmont Hospitality Group. Amber Birkeland is now the Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for Lodgestar Investments Ltd. in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area of Texas.
