As the founder of Social Catalyst Consulting in Chicago, Illinois, Amy Chan draws upon a history of leadership roles with a range of civic and nonprofit organizations. She established her consulting firm in 2019 to support the strategic advancement and development of groups that seek to engage with the community and empower underserved and marginalized populations. Amy Chan previously served for more than 7 years as Associate Dean of Students and Director of the University Community Service Center at the University of Chicago. She oversaw the Center's civic-engagement portfolio of 13 social justice, leadership development, and community-based programs in partnership with over 250 organizations across the city that engaged 3,000 students and staff participants annually.
Before settling in Illinois, Ms. Chan lived and worked in California. She served as a Program Consultant for the Boston-based national nonprofit Citizen Schools in Redwood City and San Jose, Director of Youth Programs with the Coro Center for Civic Leadership in San Francisco, and a Literacy Specialist with KIPP Bay Area Public Schools in Oakland.
