Over the past decade plus, Andrew M. Spellman has led or co-led investments totaling about $400 million, either through direct placements or funding vehicles.
A former Goldman Sachs executive, Mr. Spellman was selected as one of the global investment banking firm’s “100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs” in 2012. Among Mr. Spellman’s high profile investments with Fifth Down Capital has been Rose Park Advisors/Coupang. The leading e-commerce retailer in South Korea, Coupang has grown substantially since its inception. His firm is also one of the initial investors in Goldcrest Ventures, which in turn seed invested in the unicorn last-mile scooter ride-sharing enterprise Bird. Other key investments include New York based Valar Ventures, Enlightened Hospitality Group and Brooklyn Brooklyn New York's own Mike's Hot Honey as well as West Coast based investments such as Gusto, Scribble and 137 Ventures.
