SEO Marketing Manager, White Cloud E-Cigs, May 2016 - June 2017

Managed all onsite and offsite SEO activites for White Cloud that included creating a silo navigation structure for improved internal linking and user experience. Identitied and fixed content issues with misplaced canonical tags, pagination issues, thin content, and duplicate product listings that helped improve organic traffic by roughly 10% each month for 6 months that resulted in 13% increase in sales YoY.

SEO Marketing Manager, Noodle, May 2015 - Apr 2016

Managed all onsite and offsite SEO activities for Noodle Education while managing partnership with agency Ayima. I collaborated with the editorial team to create link-worthy content like this 67 Influential Educators piece that generated 22 links within the first month of launching. Also, it was clear that when I came on board, the site was affected by a Google algorithm update, we managed to noindex, nofollow duplicate content to our lower level pages to push crawlers to our key money pages and not waste crawl budget. This helped us reach our 1 million organic traffic end of year goal.

Noodle Education 

With big goals to grow traffic, search, and revenue to 1.4 million unique visitors in 12 months, Noodle needed a growth strategy. As a band-aid to the duplicate content that was being scraped from public data, we added noindex, nofollow tags to all of the school profile pages. This helped us allocate the crawl budget to our main category pages and avoid a Panda penalty. As a long-term solution, we began a partnership with a content development agency to write original content for each of these profile pages. Next, to solve the heavy internal linking to low priority content on main category pages, I removed the internal links in the footer to increase the flow of equity to important pages. And, finally, I added the pagination code rel=”next” and rel=”prev” to the main category pages to reduce duplicate content issues and increase crawl depth.Visit Site

Hot Dog Collars

When Hot Dog Collars came to me, they had a Penguin penalty for spammy links. I analyzed over 3,000 backlinks to identify foreign domains, domains with thin content, domains with irrelevant content, links that were paid, links from directories, and links from partner sites to remove the penalty. After the penalty was lifted, we saw an increase in impressions increased 265% and clicks increased 121%. And, overall sessions increased 974% in 4 months. In 9 months, we were able to increase indexed pages by 20%, reduce crawl errors by 91%, and increase average monthly transactions by 91.
