Anthony Wright

 Pursuing Data Science Work

A native of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Anthony Wright is pursuing a certificate program in data science at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, near Maryland. He aims to gain additional technical knowledge about software development adding to his current experience in program management with the national security sector. The former Maryland resident plans on shifting his career to the commercial sector in the future. The certification program at Georgetown University covers such topics as data analysis and software engineering for data and will aid Anthony Wright in his transition.

Immediately prior to focusing on his studies, Mr. Wright served as the principal program analyst for Modern Technology Solutions, Inc., in Virginia. He held this job for four years, during which time he supported the Office of Naval Research through program management, data analysis, and contracts management. Earlier in his career, he held such titles as senior group manager for Ausley Associates in Maryland and director of the Warrior Transition Program for the United States Navy.

Prior to his civilian roles, Mr. Wright was a commanding officer with the United States Navy. In this capacity, he commanded 160 government service, military, and contractor personnel, in addition to overseeing the safety, administration, and professional development of those under his command. While with the Navy, Mr. Wright also served as an air to ground requirements officer, strike fighter pilot, and fellow of the Washington DC Internship Program.
