The son of a cinematographer and filmmaker who owned a production company named Ponderosa, Carter Boehm founded his own film company in 2015. He established this company in the greater Washington, DC area of Vienna, Virginia. When the time came to give this company a name, he chose “Ponderosa” to pay honor to his father. As president of Ponderosa, Carter Boehm executive produced two feature films: the 2017 thriller Broken Ghost and the 2019 historical action film Robert the Bruce.
In addition to his work in the entertainment industry, Carter Boehm has amassed decades of success in the real estate development sector. He has been a principal at Vienna’s HC Land Development company since 1998, transforming $150 million in undeveloped land into finished lots and feasible entitlements.
Combining both of his professional interests, Mr. Boehm developed Yellowstone Film Ranch Studios in Livingston, Montana. Located just north of Yellowstone National Park in Montana’s Paradise Valley, this full-service production house has created a number of multi-million-dollar motion pictures.
