Harry Hsiao

HR/Department Heads, hello, my name is Harry Hsiao. I was born in Changhua County in January 1990. Besides my parents, I have two younger sisters, and a puppy who lives with me in Taipei. My father works in the construction industry, my mother is a full-time housekeeper, and my two younger sisters work in Taipei and Taichung, respectively. We get along very well.

Education:
I graduated from Taichung Municipal Taichung First Senior high school.
Afterward, I graduated from National Chung Cheng University - Department of Finance.
In addition to maintaining learning, I’ve also actively participated in extracurricular activities. I’ve participated in the Finance summer camp which was held by our department, I’ve also joined the basketball team of our finance department and won two national championships in that period. The process was very passionate and unforgettable; the extracurricular activities in university life helped me to learn leadership and activity planning skills and strengthened my skills of interpersonal communication and crisis response; furthermore, perseverance, teamwork and cooperation, which will be helpful in the future life path and work career.
After graduating from university, I successfully obtained financial certificates such as senior salesman of securities firm and investment consultant salesman during a military service.

work experience:
The first job was in Sumitomo-Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC)-Taipei Branch for more than two years. The main job content was the import and export business related to letters of credit. I worked hard to learn the knowledge of the relevant laws and regulations, the process of import and export trade;the affairs assigned by the supervisor will always be completed with efficiency, playing the role of a team division of labor and cooperation. When it is necessary to contact customers, I can always achieve a good relationship with them, and the cooperation will make the process much smoother, and I have become an indispensable member of the department. The average number of import and export transactions per month is 60~70 cases. I can complete all the transactions on time during the peak season, complete all the daily work efficiently under high pressure and time-sensitive conditions, and then follow my supervisor’s instructions to assist other departments during the off-season. After joining the company for a year, I was also honored to be voted by my colleagues as the vice chairman of the welfare committee, which also helped me learn how to integrate resources across departments for event planning.

The second job was in the business department of Grand Bills Finance Corp, responsible for credit analyst (sales), analyzing customers' financial statements and maintaining customer relationships. Although the time of my second job was short, it was also the first step for me to work in the front-end business.

The third job is my current job. I joined the sales department of Simosa Oil CO., LTD. It is the only private bitumen manufacturer (refinery) in Taiwan and the only exporter of bitumen in Taiwan and produces liquid carbon dioxide for domestic either. Because of experience in the import and export of bank.
At the beginning, I was an export assistant of sales (OP) and was responsible for the back-end processing of the shipments. Import and export affairs, document preparations, internal and external communication between the company and the refinery, and foreign customers. Even if there is an emergency at work, it will be dealt with immediately on holidays. Thanks to my colleagues and supervisor, I have learned the petrochemical industry deeper, also the market and business sales knowledge. During the period, I also went to Vietnam to hold a bitumen seminar. The experience also benefited me a lot.
Two years later, I transferred to the position of foreign sales, and started to work on more transactions, to expand contacts, and to have more direct contact or cold calling with major oil refineries, traders and shipping companies in the market and have understood more internal processes and knowledge of products, so that negotiate with foreign customers without hindrance, expand business scope and increase import and export channels.
After the Covid-19 epidemic eased, I also traveled to Singapore twice, and accumulated intensive meetings, wine and dine customers, network with new contacts, maintain existing customer relationships, and keep the annual contract going smoothly.
Because the market is changing rapidly, we must be fully prepared to follow foreign market information updates at any time. In addition to customers mainly from Asia and even Europe, they are also important sources of market information. Although some potential customers we have never had transactions with, we still have to maintain relationships. It tests my ability to communicate and maintain customer relationships.
Adapting to many changes in this job, I have grown fast in 4 and a half years.
Contract review, negotiation skills, appease customers' emotions to get the deals done, research or obtain key market information through contacts to make corresponding decisions, introducing company and products with ease to first-time contact or meet customers, and establish interactive relationships to expand business opportunities.
Therefore, I also believe that interpersonal communication is one of the most important skills in sales/business side. It is necessary to learn how to face different cultural backgrounds, adapt and integrate into each other, and make them feel comfortable and friendly when communicating with them, and when the supervisor disagrees with other departments or customers, I will be in a timely manner to communicate and coordinate between the two sides to achieve a consensus. In this job, I also learned and applied information consolidation and report analysis, arranged customer visits and conferences, and integrated various resources to achieve business goals or work projects, so I also have a good relationship with various departments and customers.

Every different experience in my life and work has taught me a lot. Most of my friends and colleagues tell me that I am a warm-hearted, kind, hard-working, smart and strong learner, and I am willing to help people to solve problems.

Thus, it will be a great honor for me to join your company and work together!
Thank you for your patience in reading my resume.

Sincerely, Harry.
