Chen Alan

Product Manager

Four years of practical experience in product development and project management, with practical skills in engineering 2D drawing, 3D drawing, graphic design, program design, etc.

My name is Alan Chen, and I live in Wanhua District, Taipei City. I am a person who has a wide range of interests and likes to learn different kinds of knowledge.

The seemingly disparate schooling process, from mechanical engineering to industrial engineering to MBA, is the reason why I can be a good PM.

I graduated from Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT), majoring in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management, and got an MBA from the National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST).

I have a special experience in that I was the president of the martial arts club at Ming Chi University of Technology. This club is on the verge of dissolving before I take it, but it has grown into a strong and stable club after I tried to take some action on marketing and relationship-building.

Everyone has an internship opportunity when they are a junior in college at MCUT, and I chose to be an assistant engineer in the project department of AVTECH. I had gained lots of industrial engineering and production management practical experience.

After the one-year internship, I returned to college and chose the program design as my graduation project. My purpose is to improve the working environment by designing a new tool, and even though I just made a little program, I still got a lot of inspiration for future work.

After the past four years of IE education and factory experience, I want to know more about companies and business management, so I went to get the MBA, and my research is about personality traits and brand loyalty.

The two years in Avier were the hardest because the product department was still recovering from reconstruction. Only the department head and I work together without any hands.
We rebuilt all product development processes and rules and defined the product roadmap and series position. I was the PM for all of the products in Avier, my job included product development, project management, supplier management, inventory management, system management, cost analysis, etc.

After I left Avier and joined GIGABYTE, I was in charge of gaming laptops, high-end gaming laptops, and other accessories like USB hubs and adapters, and I not only co-work with the inner manufacturer but also the other supplier.

I helped the product management department of GIGABYTE improve its system management for cost analysis and use the cloud for different project information shares.
