To achieve this goal, the Cloud Hardware Manufacturing Engineering (CHME) team is instrumental in defining and delivering operational measures of success for hardware manufacturing, improving the planning process, quality, delivery, scale and sustainability related to Microsoft cloud hardware.

We are looking for seasoned engineers with a strong passion for customer focused solutions, insight and industry knowledge to envision and implement future technical solutions that will manage and optimize the Cloud infrastructure.

We are looking for a PCBA Quality Engineer to join the team.

Responsibilities

• Responsible to work with the suppliers to develop and improve quality control processes to manufacture advanced PCBs and PCBAs.
• Work across the organization to identify and understand the critical HW components, their performance and improvement activities.
• Participate in the design reviews as an expert in design for manufacturability, design for testability, design of quality, yield improvements, and define CTQs quality controls.
• Primary point of contact for production non-conforming parts, troubleshooting, root cause, failure investigations and corrective actions thought the product life cycle from NPI to sustaining.
• Creates a supplier engagement model, evaluates supplier readiness, and supplier performance across the product line.
• Drive the implementation of FMEAs and Controls plans. Establish and maintain strong quality management systems that achieve continuous improvement of product quality.
• Demonstrates in depth knowledge and expertise in all areas of PCBs and PCBAs manufacturing quality.
• Handle the escalations and lead the technical problem-solving forums.
• Develop hardware development and manufacturing requirements and guidelines.
  

Required:

• BS degree in Materials Science, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or related field
• 5-year experience in the manufacturing process of PCBs and quality controls
• Extensive experience in mass production environments for PCB, SMT, rework/repair, and system assembly
• Familiar with ODM/OEM/CM working model in IT tech industry
• Hands on experience with statistical tools, DOE, 8Ds, Gage R&R and problem-solving methods
• Deep understanding of PCB manufacturing technologies and processes controls
• In depth knowledge of server components and their workings
• Ability to analyses large data sets and extract the essence
• Fluency in English language
  
  

Preferred

• Master’s degree in Electrical or Electronics is preferred
• Experience in Server/Cloud/Enterprise HW manufacturing process
• 10+ year experience in area of Manufacturing consumer electronics
• ASQ (American Society for Quality) certification, with special consideration for CQE and Six Sigma
• Understands server microprocessor architectures, including the operation of related subsystems, interfaces, and components
• Fluency in Mandarin is a plus
