Packaging Structure Designer
Job Description
Amazon Device - Ring as a leading brand in home security, is looking for a creative talent to join the packaging team based in Taipei, Taiwan. As a fast-growing company, we are also expanding our coverage and possibilities in packaging design as long as you possess the eyes of a designer and logical thinking that can create sleek/eco-friendly packaging plus manage day-to-day communications across sites and functions to keep the development progressing.
- Responsible for Ring’s packaging development of different products at an immense pace and variety
- Decent aesthetics and strong structural knowledge to lead suppliers to deliver protective packaging that also meets the family look and present product value in target cost
- Communicate and provide valuable engineering feedbacks to suppliers and Ring Packaging Design team in Santa Monica
- Manage and consolidate packaging BOM and parts
- Analysis and solve test/field issues efficiently and with minimum impact on cost/schedule/aesthetics/user experience
- Align the packaging design delivery/manufacturing lead time to meet the project overall milestones
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Product Design, Visual Communication or related design field
- 4+ years of experience in design consumer electronics’ packaging
- Fluency and good communication skills in both Mandarin and English, verbal and written
- Able to generate packaging dielines based on proposed concepts for artwork creation
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and experiences of printing and artwork production
- Solid experiences of working in a bilingual environment
- Experiences of handling pallet and shipping configurations
- Other strong skills that can stimulate creative thoughts and add extra value
