Product Design Engineer - EERO
Job Description
WiFi is the new electricity. Outside of the smartphone, it's the technology we depend on the most; the foundation for the modern home. It makes our favorite experiences – Netflix, Spotify, FaceTime – come to life. Without it, almost nothing works.
But at best, WiFi is like death by a thousand cuts: dead zones, painful setup, embarrassing passwords, equipment that’s a major eyesore. At worst, it fails completely – just as you're trying to send that critical file to your boss or firing up the Sonos for your dinner party. Eero is fixing all of this. Job Description:
As a Product Design Engineer, you will work with the rest of the Eero Hardware Engineering team to design and implement mechanical systems for wireless networking applications.
In this role, you will:
- Develop mechanical designs from initial concept through the entry to service.
- Prototype designs using appropriate methodologies (SLA, SLA, CNC)
- Interface with other elements of the project team (ID, EE, RF, Ops)
- Develop and modify product specifications
- Interface with Asian development and manufacturing partners
- Manage DFM feedback from suppliers, advise on design modifications
- Conduct design reviews within the engineering team
- Factory Travel, 20-25%
Requirements
BS in Mechanical Engineering
3-5 years of experience in electro-mechanical product design
Experience in electromechanical product design
Experience with plastic part and sheet metal design
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of tolerance analysis and statistical process control
Conversational and technical English fluency
CAD: Solidworks or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
MS in Mechanical Engineering
8-10 years of experience in electro-mechanical product design
Experience in plastic part production, tooling, and optimization
Experience with high-volume manufacturing
Experience with thermal analysis
Experience with principles of antenna design and integration
