As a System Test Engineer, you are a member of the System Test & Integration (STI) team. You define, automate, execute and report on system level tests. You perform both regression and progression testing in a hardware/software environment
You define the tests that need to be executed to verify the functionality and performance of our products. While executing the system tests, you detect and register issues. You work with development teams in diagnosing the issues and re-testing solutions
You report the issues found and enable the product teams to judge the impact and risks of the issues. Lead time and test quality are important; you continuously seek ways to improve the efficiency and effectivity of your work. During the alpha test period, the team is expected to work outside regular office hours
You perform several of the following tasks, depending on the distribution of tasks within the team:
1. Software baseline validation
Execute the basic regression test on the software baseline on a weekly basis
2. Quality check of the project deliverables
Contribute to requirement reviews with respect to testability
Write test performance specification (TPS) and generate test analysis report (TAR)
Provide a quality verdict of the delivered software; Accept/reject deliverables
3. Execute the alpha test of new software packages
Write (part of) the alpha test plan
Execute alpha test plan
Report issues to integration PL
Write test reports, submit issue tickets
4. Process improvement
Suggest process/tooling improvements where necessary
Automate test cases using ASML’s test automation tool TWIST and other means
Maintain existing test automation framework and tooling
Education
Bachelor degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related subject with emphasis on software engineering
Experience
-3 years’ experience in testing, preferably in a hardware/software environment
-Solid software engineering knowledge, software lifecycle knowledge and Scrum agile way of working
-Experience with test automation and with several test techniques will be a plus
-Experience with software development will be a plus
-ISTQB certified or a similar certification will be a plus
Personal skills
-Ability to communicate professionally with colleagues and people with non-SW and/or non-Asian backgrounds
-Excellent spoken and written English and proven ability to work independently in a team setting and a multi-site environment
-Smart, initiative, assertive, creative and cooperative working attitude and self-propelling personal qualities
