Role Summary

As a senior service (site) reliability engineer (SRE) in BlueX Trade, you will ensure both our internally critical and externally-visible systems have reliability, uptime appropriate to users' needs and a fast rate of improvement. Additionally you will keep an ever-watchful eye on our systems capacity and performance.

Moreover, you will collaborate closely with the product team and the development team, and become a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional team. You will help the team to deliver great products and delight our consumers.

Responsibilities

• Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services—from inception and design, deployment, operation, and refinement.
• Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and launch reviews.
• Maintain services by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.
• Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation
• Evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
• Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.

Qualifications

• ​​Experience in working in a Unix-like environment and good at shell scripting.
• ​​Experience with monitoring systems, tracing and observability to manage large scale systems.
• Passion for learning cutting-edge technologies and automating large scale processes
• Software architecture design skills for maintaining High Availability and Fault Tolerance
• Ability to debug.
• Knowledge of Development ecosystem tooling: Git/CI/Kubernetes
• Knowledge of continuous integration via tools like Jenkins, Gitlab CI, and etc.
• Good at at least one programming language (Java, Javascript, Python, and etc.)
• Ability to automate routine tasks.
• Experience in working within Agile teams.
• Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
• Good communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with building and maintaining application stacks in a Cloud or Hybrid Cloud environment
• Experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
