Job summary
As a Senior Social Editor for Booking.com China, you will be responsible for planning, conceptualising, producing and curating social media content. You are a passionate storyteller, skilled communicator and creative initiator. You have worked in an agency or similar environment in China and know the industry best practices and processes inside out - collaborating with different functions as necessary. You are a conceptual thinker with a pragmatic approach to work - aware of the business impact of your copy. You are confident presenting your ideas and rationalising your copy approaches.
You’ll support Booking.com’s goal to continuously improve the quality and performance of its content and work cross-functionally to shape and deliver exciting new content projects. This role is ideal for an experienced editor with a keen interest in all parts of the content creation process, from shaping initial concepts to final execution of highly engaging consumer-centric content.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage, safeguard & sign-off the quality and quantity of the content produced by Booking.com China’s creative content team, for both visual & copywriting.
- Write highly creative, engaging and consumer insight-driven content for digital and social media platforms, including but not limited to WeChat, Weibo, Xiaohongshu;
- Take ownership of copy briefs, answering them independently and delivering to a high standard;
- Conceptualize creative ideas to optimize performance of assigned projects;
- Propose and implement creative ideas to improve content visibility and social platforms followers engagement;
- Manage Social Media projects and grow online content communities, and achieve set KPIs;
- Inspire and support other copywriters, provide regular developmental feedback;
- Track relevant data and team KPIs to inform copy approach;
- Track UGCs, analyse and seed contents that increase exposure and drive engagement;
- Stay abreast of latest industry trends, technology, techniques and draw on these to come up with new ideas.
Required knowledge and skills:
- Expert copywriting skills and passion for writing compelling online content;
- Minimum of 3-5 years professional experience within social copywriting and editing function;
- Knowledge of various Digital and Social Media channels in China, enthusiasm for social media and internet culture;
- Creative thinking and sense of trending content format;
- Ability to plan and construct copy and content projects;
- Excellent communication in English and Chinese language
