仁寶自2018年即開始積極布局5G的技術發展及應用，專攻智慧農業、智慧製造、健康醫療、雲端遊戲等四大領域，也在仁寶智能裝置事業群大樓內設立了名為「Empirical V」的5G實驗室，已於2020年5月底開始啟用，實驗場域內架設5G實驗網絡，除了驗證測試內部開發的5G終端產品、並與合作夥伴共同發展5G RAN(無線接取網路)、MEC(多接取邊緣運算)以及Core Network (核心網路)等解決方案，提供合作夥伴在場域佈建前先行驗證。

目前已有智慧農業病蟲害預防偵測、智慧製造之工業巡檢應用、遠距醫療、以及雲端VR串流遊戲等解決方案。在四大應用領域上，以智慧農業的試驗成果表現最為卓越。仁寶與宜蘭縣政府、壯圍鄉農會、天龍安全科技公司合作，選定壯圍鄉新南智慧特別是今年遇到2月寒流、豪大雨等影響，宜蘭哈密瓜原收成只有三成，但透過引入智慧農場，現在都能維持至七至八成，不但確保哈密瓜收成，還能提升瓜果品質。

看好5G垂直應用市場發展潛力，仁寶攜手工業、農業、醫療、電競娛樂等四大領域夥伴，共同開發解決方案，加速應用落地。針對未來大量使用者及資料流量的5G行動網路，和需要超低延遲來達到5G服務需求標準，仁寶也和合作夥伴積極發展5G MEC等重要關鍵技術，透過結合AI影像辨識與MR影像重疊技術，讓5G影像串流及資訊傳輸零時差。仁寶與系統整合業者(SI)、電信商及各領域夥伴合作，希望加速提供企業用戶5G整套的解決方案。架設「Empirical V」 5G實驗室，作為5G應用落地的實驗場域。
