We're an early-stage startup founded in 2020 by two ex-Facebookers based in Taipei, Taiwan. After 8 years of career, they want to bring back the culture of Silicon Valley to Taiwan, so they have Cooby - a highly freedom and transparency company with a whole team built in Taiwan and targeting the international market.

We believe the product should be based on users’ pain points, digging in and solving them. Since the product launch in July 2021, a chrome extension on WhatsApp Web, we have users in 84+ countries, with 86% of surveyed users either happy or extremely happy, and we’re working to raise that. We also create a workspace for enterprises, which is a tool for the sales manager to track their sales team. We got over 10 potential users since Jan 2022.

Your Role

As a Mid-senior Backend Engineer, you'll be responsibilities will include building the most important product of the company, owning key features, and driving initiatives. Collaborating with other teams, design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.

What You'll Do

• Programming all services with Go, python
• Conceiving scalable and reliable architecture with AWS service: DynamoDB, S3 as well as others
• Defining PostgreSQL table schemas and proper indexes and used Redis for caching and simple locking
• Working with the front-end engineers closely and bridging the gap between design and technical implementation, defining how the application looks as well as how it works.
• Be a Tech Lead to train other backend engineers to deliver tasks on schedule troubleshoot and resolve bugs and issues across the stack.

Who We're Looking For (Requirements)

• 3 years of industry experience working on backend systems at an internet service
• Familiar with Go and Python programming language, strong analytical and coding skills
• Experience in cloud service (we use AWS)
• Algorithms, Architecture, Cloud Computing, Database, Distributed Systems, Networking.
• Experience in building REST APIs
• Experience in system design
• Experience in SQL and NoSQL databases

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in large-scale system design
• Experience in designing cloud-based service infrastructure
• Experience in agile software development methodologies
