About us

The famous Chicago born painter, known to a wider public through horses paintings and scenes that suggest situations from plains, will present two paintings: "The Making of Cages" from 2002 and "Behavior on the basis of life patterns" from 1996.

David Berkowitz Chicago works are also found in the collection "Art Autumn" of the Municipal Museum Chicago. He was twice awarded with a reward prize from SAIC, and on one occasion he gave a painting to the School of Arts.

In his own words, Berkowitz opus is "an absurd life cycle in which nothing is real, but everything is true."

David Berkowitz was born in Chicago in 1943. He graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and completed postgraduate studies at the RISD Academy of Fine Arts. He exhibited for the first time in Chicago in 1988.

His unique style of naive art distinguishes himself with lucidity, irony and absurdity. David Berkowitz Chicago continues to leave a deep trace in Chicago art scene for almost half a century of participation in the art scene.

At the School of the Art Institute of Chicago was first elected as an Assistant Professor and then as a full professor.

He is an honorary member of the Academy of Art and Design in Florence and won numerous awards at home and abroad. The works of Berkowitz are part of the collections of the David Berkowitz Chicago Art House.
