Responsibilities

• Automation. SREs are obsessed with automation and tooling.
• Design, develop and optimize the CI/CD pipelines for multiple products
• Design and develop applications to monitor and assess system performance for internal external stakeholders.
• Analyze and improve efficiency, performance, scalability, stability and securitys.
• Liaise with internal customers and external collaborators on technical requirements.
• Resiliency strategies, such as Load and Failure testing.
• Drive efficiencies in systems and processes: capacity planning, configuration management, performance tuning, monitoring, and root cause analysis.
• Incident Response (improving the on-call experience, tools, and procedures) including a comprehensive Postmortem process.

Requirements

• Experience with CI/ CD
• Power-user Linux knowledge and willingness to explore Linux internals
• Experience with automation
• Experience with virtual infrastructure like AWS, GCP. 
• Strong hands-on experience in scripting languages such as Python.
• Ability to use configuration management tools and revision control system (Git, SVN, Terraform, Saltstack, etc.)
• Proficient in System Engineering/ Networking
• Hands-on experience in Web and API automation using tools like Jenkins, BotAPI.

Nice to Have

• Understanding of Unix/Linux systems from kernel to shell and beyond, taking in system libraries, file systems, and client-server protocols along the way.
• Networking: knowledge and understanding of network theory, such as different protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, etc), MAC addresses, IP packets, DNS, OSI layers, and load balancing.
• Ability to work independently and own projects from conception to release.
• Deeply cares about best software engineering practices and code quality, including good code architecture, clean interfaces, test coverage, performance benchmarking, and performance optimizations and software security.
• Ability to quickly prototype components to confirm design trade-offs and subsequently translate to robust specifications and product quality components.
• Proficient in Java programming language.
• Proficient in SQL / DB technologies, performance tuning.
