The Estée Lauder Companies is one of the world’s leading manufacturers and marketers of quality skin care, makeup, fragrance, and hair care products. The Company’s products are sold in over 150 countries and territories under well-recognized brand names, including Estée Lauder, Aramis, Clinique, Origins, M.A.C, La Mer, Bobbi Brown, Darphin, Jo Malone London, Aveda, GlamGlow, Tom Ford Beauty and Lab Series Skincare for Men.
The company established a presence in Taiwan in 1989. At the beginning, it introduced only three brands to the Taiwan market: Estee Lauder, Clinique, and Aramis. Because the first English letter in the name of the three brands can be abbreviated as ELCA, ELCA became the company name of the Taiwan Branch.
The Estee Lauder Companies is committed to “ Bringing the Best to Everyone We Touch and Being the Best in Everything We Do.” Over the years, the corporate philanthropy program has supported the activities and growth of numerous organizations dedicated to health and human services, education, the environment, and the arts. One of the most important philanthropic initiatives is the “Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign.” The campaign was begun in October 1992 to draw public attention to breast cancer and spread the message to women that early detection saves lives. The “Pink Ribbon Campaign” is in place in over 70 countries and many of the Company’s divisions also support local cancer programs and fundraising efforts. In addition, The M.A.C brand’s initiative to fight HIV/AIDS through the M.A.C AIDS Fund, provides vital services and strengthens the safety net for people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
