Faria Education Group was founded in 2006 to transition schools from paper onto a curriculum-focused learning platform. Today, Faria powers curriculum for over 10,000 schools & districts and 4 million students with a suite of 6 services. Faria’s multi-disciplinary team of over 200 operates globally, across 9 offices.

This is a full-time development position in our Taipei office. We expect you to be able to contribute to the development of high-quality software solutions with minimal guidance. You should already be familiar with web development using Ruby on Rails, and have experience using and creating complex solutions. You will need the ability to quickly learn and maintain a mature codebase. We also value high-quality UI/UX work that matches our emphasis on customer service.

Required skills

• 3+ years of experience of RoR software development expertise;
• Ruby on Rails (5 and 6);
  
• RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL is a plus);
• Frontend (HTML, CSS3, jQuery, CoffeeScript, SASS, Bootstrap, Vue.js);
• Background processing (DelayedJob, Sidekiq);
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, familiarity with the concepts of MVC, Mocking, ORM, and RESTful;
• Automated testing (RSpec), continuous integration;
• English: Intermediate or upper, verbal and written

Responsibilities

• New features development based on the provided specifications
• Maintaining the existing applications (bug fixes, migration to new Rails versions, UI refresh).
• Interacting with the other teams (within the company and external) regarding the applications integration and API.
