As a Software QA engineer, you will join the team responsible for our strategy for quality coordination and testing. You will understand the tools and techniques used to introduce new products and will work with teams across the company to drive quality improvements through the entire development cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, create and manage the overall Quality Planning strategy and document
• Perform automated and manual testing of Desktop, Server and Core platforms
• Improve automated test capability with design and code contributions
• Conduct bug tracking
• Collaborate with the Project team to ensure consistent project execution
• Identify quality assurance process bottleneck and suggest improvements
• Oversee continuous improvement projects
• Identify, isolate, and document bugs clearly and concisely in the bugs database
• Communicate effectively with colleagues in a variety of time zones around the world
• Triage test reports and customer bugs

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, team lead experience would be a plus
• Experience with the Linux desktop
• Solid grasp of commercial Software QA practices and ideas on how to integrate them into Linux Community standards
• Experience with Shell script, Python or JavaScript
• Excellent logic, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
• Great English communication skills
