Lumentum is looking for an Infrastructure Systems Engineer to be a part of the Infrastructure Systems Engineering Team. The position is based in New Taipei City, Taiwan.

This individual contributor role will be responsible for primarily supporting the New Taipei City office and related manufacturing facility in Taoyuan. Other responsibilities will include global participation in provisioning, configuring, installing, configuring, and supporting global Lumentum servers, storage, and cloud services.

The position will also participate on an on-call rotation as part of the IT global support model to meet customer expectations and service level agreements (SLAs). The ideal candidate is customer focused, a proactive and strategic thinker and have worked in large scale globally distributed environments with direct hands on experience with the appropriate technical and soft skills.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure key IT systems, hardware, services, and processes are available

• Proactively evaluate and monitor performance of key systems and processes to ensure continued business operations

• Deep dive into the technologies used locally and become a subject matter expert (SME)

• Coordinate and communicate with leadership on proposed or implemented resolutions and changes

• Meet organizational SLA metrics

• Coordinate with external vendors for support and projects deliverables

• Design, recommend and advocate new initiatives with application and operation teams to deliver innovative infrastructure solutions

• Identify opportunities for further improvements to cost and efficiency

• Work directly with the local Lumentum team on resolving time sensitive issues

• Collaborate with other IT and business teams on projects.

 

Technical Skills:

• Strong Linux experience with shell scripting experience is a must

• Strong Microsoft Infrastructure experience (Windows Server, Active Directory, O365) is a must

• VMware administration

• Cloud Technology (AWS) experience is a must

• Strong Windows Desktop expertise is preferred

• Strong NAS/SAN experience (CIFS, NFS, iSCSI) is preferred

• Strong knowledge of infrastructure (SMTP, FTP, SFTP, ssh, DNS, DHCP) services is preferred

• Strong experience in automation of manual tasks is preferred

• Backup and restore technologies and practices is preferred

• Web server experience (Apache, IIS) is a plus

• Working knowledge of Virtualization (VMware) is a plus

• Enterprise Networking knowledge is a plus.

• Automation experience preferred

• Scripting experience in Python, Bash, PowerShell preferred

Soft Skills:

Education and Experience:

• 5+ years of professional IT Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline

• Experience working with or qualified in ITIL

• Experience working in an Agile team (preferred)
