At MAI, we are seeking self-motivated software engineers across the tech stack to build user-focused web applications that support and interface with our VR applications. Our team is distributed all over the world from the US to Europe to Taiwan. We are looking for more individuals who are highly self-motivated and have the ability to work independently and to communicate clearly across different time zones.

What you might do in your first few months:

• FS: Build a quick prototype web app that manages a new set of data models
• BE: Work with our VR engineers to build a server API to support a new VR feature
• BE/FE: Work with our product team and other stakeholders to understand new requirements and estimate a project timeline
• FE: Add a new feature or component to our app, e.g. a reusable data visualization component
• BE: Add new automated unit/integration tests, or a monitoring hook to support production analysis
• BE: Streamline and optimize our infrastructure
• BE/FE: Add new configurations and scripts to our CI/CD pipelines
• BE: Analyze our monitoring and logging tools to investigate performance issues

Our ideal candidate:

• Has [mid: 4-6 | senior: 7-10] years of experience
• frontend: Loves building beautiful and intuitive user experiences in React
• backend: Loves building highly performant APIs, designing database storage, and optimizing system performance
• Writes clean, extensible and maintainable code
• Loves git and version control
• Is familiar with short development cycles and Agile principles
