We are looking for an individual with drive, ideas, and a passion for helping shape the future of Roku. This Software Manager position requires an energetic and self-motivated individual with excellent communication, organization, project management, and technical skills to grow and lead Roku’s international launch of Streaming Players. This is a unique opportunity for a senior professional who enjoys a high level of independence, visibility, and responsibility.

You should be a gritty problem solver and self-starter who can drive programs with the product and commercial teams within Roku and across external strategic partner organizations. The successful candidate will display a balance of hard and soft skills, including the ability to respond quickly to changing business needs.

What you’ll be doing

• Own engineering activities to bring new Streaming Player products to international markets, including coordination with other product teams and operations
• Drive successful product launch activities in international markets
• Refine, build and lead Roku’s Player international new product introduction processes for scalability
• Recruit and manage engineering talent
• Provide technical direction, guidance, and hands-on management
• Collaborate with other international product and engineering leads to refine go-to-market plans and identify and fill organisational gaps
• Communicate engineering risks and changes to plan of record to core program team
• Ensure all product requirements are satisfied for a successful international launch
• Establish measurable product quality KPIs for product launch
• Monitor post-launch performance and establish actions to ensure KPIs are being met
• Set up and own a cadence of reviews/approvals of your deliverables that increase visibility, discussion, and innovation

• Over 8 years of relevant software development experience with at least 2-3 years of leadership experience
• Consumer Electronics experience a plus
• Experience leading complex cross-functional programs
• Demonstrated tenacity, resilience, and leadership experience that enables you to organize and lead programs and teams, overcome challenges, and propose solutions.
• Outstanding collaboration and partnership capabilities, experience with collaborating with distributed global teams
• Curiosity for language, culture, regional nuance, and the desire to continually build empathy. A strong team player in a multi-language/multi-cultural environment
• A born leader - strong organisational and leadership skills in navigating ambiguous environments
• Proven effectiveness at delivering summary updates, reports and impactful presentations at the executive level; great interpersonal and communication skills.
