Job Description

Rosetta.ai helps fashion e-commerce uncover consumer's shopping preferences and provide personalized shopping experiences to consumers. We're making e-commerce merchants have enterprise-level AI backup on day 1.

Our Product team is designing for the global diversity of e-commerce merchants and shoppers' needs, which requires us to deeply understand the behaviors of the people behind them. UX researchers tackle some of the most complex challenges to gain deeper insights into how people interact with each other and the world around them and work collaboratively to contribute new ideas to products that impact the experiences of people on a global scale.

We employ a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods to accomplish our goals, including surveys, focus groups, field studies, usability tests, and 1:1 interviews. We value a diverse range of perspectives and stem from many different backgrounds—geographically, culturally, educationally, philosophically. The combination of the product team will come from industry and academia, with roots in anthropology, design research, economics, HCI, human factors, market research, political science, sociology, social computing, and social psychology, among others.

We are looking for a UX Researcher who is passionate about increasing access to personalized product recommendations for people around the world. We’re also looking for excellent communicators who are knowledgeable about product design and/or ranking and personalization, passionate about understanding people, curious about the relationship between technology and society, comfortable in a fast-moving organization, excited to collaborate, open-minded about learning new skills, and methods and focused on influencing the future of Rosetta.ai.

         

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with product and business teams to identify research topics.
  • Act as a thought leader in the domain of research, while advocating for the people who do or could use our products.
  • Work broadly across teams to help identify trade-offs between short and long-term research goals and select the right mix of projects to benefit the team.
  • Design studies that address both user behavior and attitudes.
  • Generate insights that both fuel ideation and evaluate designs.
  • Conduct research using a wide variety of methods, and interpret analysis through the lens of UX, HCI, and social science.
  • Work cross-functionally with design, product management, content strategy, engineering, and marketing.
  • Partner with engineers, analysts, and other technical roles to create and share research.
  • Communicate results and illustrate suggestions in compelling and creative ways.

Requirements

[Minimum Qualifications]

BACKGROUND & SKILLS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a human behavior-related field, such as Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Communication, Information science, Media studies, Computer Science, or Economics.
  • 3+ years’ relevant experience within user experience, applied research setting, and/or product research and development
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Experience synthesizing large-scale data in multi-method studies.
  • Experience with survey design and response effects.
  • Experience planning and executing complex research projects in a product group or business area, working across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience translating research findings into strategic narratives.
  • Effective communication skills with experience presenting to diverse audiences.
  • Experience working with a variety of cross-functional peers and stakeholders (e.g., product managers, data scientists, designers, engineers, policy, communications, marketing).
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative user-centered research methods (e.g., interviewing, ethnography, surveys, co-design, concept-testing, etc.).
  • Experience coding with R, SQL, or SPSS.

      BACKGROUND & SKILLS:
      • Master’s degree in related field and 3+ years’ relevant experience, or Ph.D. in related field and 2+ years relevant experience.
      • Experience with B2B SaaS products, consumer insights, or product development.
          EXPERIENCES:
          • Experience building teams over time through hiring, growing, and retaining high-performing researchers.
          • Experience identifying, initiating, and leading projects of large scope that contribute to the greater research/product team through mentoring, culture, subject matter, or research expertise.
          • Experience directly conducting primary research (either qualitative or quantitative) end-to-end (i.e., designing, fielding, analyzing, and reporting out data).
          • Experience planning and executing complex research projects in a product group or business area, working across multiple projects simultaneously.
