We're looking for skilled or passionate Android engineers to take technical ownership on one of the following priorities for the company:

• Creating an enterprise-grade app updater that will allow our hardware to update its software (apps or firmware)
• Building out a dynamic UI layer that allows Android to generate front-end views through a backend platform via JSON.
• Launching a robust launcher experience that replaces the default Android experience with a kiosk app interface.

• A challenge. We're not looking for someone who wants to just develop APIs for clients to access information, but rather someone who wants to extend and improve how enterprise infrastructure is used.
• To explore the limits of something deeply technical. Besides being technically skilled and able to lead major engineering efforts, we're looking for someone with an intense curiosity for deeply technical things most people shy away from.
• A role with real impact and ownership. Soda Labs will enable people around the world to access quality hardware for products that small teams normally don’t have access to. You will get to make foundational decisions that will affect each product.

There are very few people that can build an OS inside of an OS - We're looking for the right fit.

- Min 2-year experience working with Android development
- Good understanding of the internal workings of the Android OS
- Experience using modern android frameworks: RxJava, Dagger 2, Kotlin, MVP/MVVM, Testing
- Ability to dig into the Android Open Source Project code to find ways to achieve functionality not publicly documented in the SDK
- Comfort working with Android Debug Bridge for code debugging and crash analysis.
- Proficient English
- Great communication skills through written (documentation) or spoken (meetings, presentations)

Nice-to-have:
- Prior experience developing Android ROMs
- Experience working with NDK
- Understanding of Android memory management, and prior experience with memory usage optimization
