The legacy of commercial buildings infrastructure has been the biggest hurdle for innovations. Compare with smart home technologies, for example, you can easily install any smart devices and activate them via app by yourself, while you still need to submit tickets for the requests in the office. This inefficiency creates many issues such as energy waste, air quality issues, occupant comfort complaints, equipment malfunction..etc.

We believe that the only way to solve this problem is to make the new technologies more accessible and easy to adopt. Roby converts conventional buildings into smart buildings by transferring custom integrations into over-the-air software updates. We provide a software platform for property owners, facility managers, and tenants to instantly activate smart building technologies.

Our team is looking for a mission-driven Senior Front End/Full Stack Engineer to challenge this global industrial issue by developing and supporting the product for our customers. This position is full-time and can be remote (preferred location: Taipei).

Your responsibilities:

• Work with design, business, and engineering team members to build intuitive and scalable web-based interfaces
• Drive clarity in business and technical requirements and develop them into technical designs
• Conduct code reviews and engage in technical discussion on design and architecture to foster learning and improvement across the team
• Incorporate feedback from customers and partners to build and improve product features

Preferred qualifications:

• Bachelors in Computer Science
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Experience with developing front end systems using modern frameworks and integrating with APIs
• Experience with JavaScript, React, HTML5, CSS3 and relevant tools/libraries such as Redux Angular, Material UI, TypeScript and React Hook
• Experience with developing applications in production
• Experience with agile software development
• Knowledge of good software development practices and testing
• Some familiarity of full-stack/backend is helpful
• Experience with AWS a bonus
• Strong communication skills in English
• Experience with UI design a bonus
