TransBiz is hiring a director of operations to build a team of eCommerce operation & marketing specialists (ECサイト運営), customer loyalty specialists and marketing specialists dedicated to growing revenue for our clients in Japan.

Since 2015, we have successfully launched dozens of startup Asian brands into the United States with success. One of our clients reached USD$90,000 in monthly revenue in as little as 6 months. (Selling on Amazon & the brand’s own eCommerce store.)
While we value being hands-on and love people who can accurately identify both money & long-tail keywords for the products we are marketing, this is not an operation specialist role.
The successful hire will be a seasoned executive capable of hiring and managing high-performance teams, setting strategic context and helping develop channel strategies.
This is a strategic position that will be responsible for leading a team and driving the clients’ revenue growth strategies across channels as well as working cross-functionally with the editorial, designs, acquisition & client success teams on campaigns.
More specifically, we are searching for:
1. History of leadership. We’d like to see evidence of serving as a key decision maker in a senior eCommerce operations role. Someone who felt challenged and energized by the deep transformations the eCommerce segments went through in the last decade. 2. An independent thinker capable of self-motivating and self-managing, thriving with the level of freedom we offer our employees. Someone open to connect autonomously with a vast network of collaborators seeking to understand how eCommerce operations can holistically impact our clients’ businesses. 3. Someone versed in creating WOWing experiences that build customer loyalty, trained in crafting strategies that the team can adopt to always put a smile on our customers. 4. An innovation driven mind in continuous search for new hacks to get ahead of the curve on crowded channels (https://www.amazon.co.jp/, https://www.rakuten.co.jp/.) 5. Someone experienced in clients/ agency relationships building, capable of shaping productive long term relations 6. An articulate communicator in English & Japanese speech and writing. Team members are expected to participate and contribute to strategic discussions often and significantly. 7. Talent management skills. Aside from understanding how to behave professionally around talent, we value the capacity to earn trust with them and their representatives – a key part of obtaining buy-in for effective executions. 8. Solid grasp of analytics tools. We don’t let data determine our actions but we do rely on data to inform our judgment and intuition. You don’t need to be a pivot table genius to work here but you do need to have a good grasp of analytics in order to ask the right questions to our analytical partners.
