Description

As IT Engineer you will work on a variety of IT-related support tasks as required by internal users such as providing 1st and 2nd line support and training to internal users on the use of various software packages. You will work as a key player under the APAC IT team to provide different aspects of IT support to the local office, from setting up new domain users and configuring PCs to maintaining local IT infrastructure and liaising with suppliers.

This role will remotely report to the Information Security Manager, who is based in the Hong Kong office.

Responsibilities

• Provide help desk support to the local team
• Evaluate technology products or services for the office, provide local insights and relevant procurement advices
• Assist information security officers in enforcing established security policies locally
• Liaise with suppliers and APAC IT team to perform routine system and network administrative tasks
• Troubleshooting all technology issues related to hardware, mobile devices, network and cloud based platforms, cloud security and mobility
• Manage and maintain local hardware and software assets
• May be required to perform maintenance work during off-hours

• Good command of English is a must, both written and spoken
• Minimum 2 - 3 years of solid experience in providing technical hands-on IT end-user support in Windows & preferably Mac environment, and configuring security policies and controls (e.g. Windows GPO, Disk Encryption)
• Familiarity with local IT procurement options and suppliers
• Good troubleshooting skills & user-oriented; Able to communicate at all levels within the organization, technical and non-technical, remotely or in-person
• Able to work independently; A team player, self-motivated and well organised
• Experience in network management in a corporate setting involving diverse platforms, with good understanding of typical network and security protocols and services (e.g. LDAP, IPSec, SSL-VPN) is desirable
