Job Summary:

The Software Engineer, Digital and Transformation, IoT Solutions requires knowledge and expertise to participate in the architectural design, development, and enhancement of West IoT applications. He will work with an international team to bring the power of IoT in the Pharmaceutical space, contributing to an efficient and effective production flow as well as instrumentally contribute to West Pharma IoT internal and customer facing capabilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Build performant and reliable Internet-of-Things software components with various technologies
• Work with support and testing team to provide first class experience to users
• Produce quality source code and technical documentation
• Contribute to the team know-how and general industry good practices
• Support senior roles to architect project from prototypes to testing
• Trace code and troubleshoot issues in production systems
• With guidance add new features following original design logic and patterns
• Communicate & work with local and overseas teams
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent preferred
• 3+ years of related work experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to read/write/speak/listen in English.
• Ability to master new technologies quickly.
• Good development experience with various programing languages & databases
• Experience with or motivation to learn NodeJs & Erlang/Elixir
• IoT related software development background, including:
  • Experience in building distributed or data intensive systems a plus
• Experience with device connectivity & protocols a plus(HTTP, MQTT, ..)
• Experience with communication encryption a plus(TLS, PKI, Digital Signature)
• Experience with firmware development a plus
• Experience in Cloud services CICD & hosting a plus
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced and complex environment with a self-motivated work ethic; use sound judgment with an ability to manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.
• Ability to work in a virtual environment in a global organization and to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment in making decisions and resolving complex problems related to general and technical aspects of the job.
• Able to comply with the company’s safety and quality policies at all times

Physical and Travel Requirements
