Where thought meets action

After 25+ years as an "operator" at various startups, many of which have grown into scale-ups, I'm seeking to utilize my deep cross-functional operating experience and my experience as an angel investor and startup advisor to join and impact a venture organization and/or work fractionally as functional area executive with startups and scale-ups.

My style and ethos is to marry thought with action and apply technology to solve problems and meet user/market needs. First, I work to strategically understand and define the "why" and the "what" and ensure that it's connected to business goals and user/market needs. Then, I lead and manage cross-functional teams to craft the "how", determine the "when" and execute on the delivery of technology solutions to clients and commercial technology products to markets.

At a Glance

In pursuing my focus at different companies and across various industries I have been able to successfully:

  • LEAD and MANAGE people, functional areas, project teams, and partner relationships
  • IDENTIFY needs through empathy, elicit and prioritize requirements and then map to solutions through roadmaps

  • ARCHITECT, design and deliver technology-based business solutions
  • HELP businesses and organizations achieve substantial new capabilities
  • SELL products and services directly as well as establish/manage channel sales partners
  • CO-FOUND a SaaS CRM co. and an entrepreneurial/coworking NPO, bring products to market and grow them

  • FOUND a B2C (DTC and wholesale) casual footwear brand in the fishing industry
  • ANGEL INVEST in numerous SaaS technology startups and advise dozens of startup founders

I am extremely well-rounded, versatile, and entrepreneurial and think of myself as a cross-functional "business athlete". I think and act strategically and like operating through a player/coach model. I especially enjoy companies and SaaS business applications and holistic solutions that help businesses and organizations improve process and efficiency, customer relationships and engagement, marketing/sales and data-driven decision making.
