After completing a bachelor's degree in business management at Jefferson College in St. Louis, Missouri, Daniel Francis joined the US Army. He served 3 years with the Army’s Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit, and received an honorable discharge in 1988 after having received the General Creighton Abrams Award. Daniel Francis then served 2 years as head of print sales at Missouri's Senior Circuit Newspaper.

In 1991, Daniel Francis founded the mail business St. Louis Presort, Inc. He guided the company's day-to-day and administrative functions for 19 years, earning multiple awards, including Entrepreneur of the Year. He subsequently launched the reality show/business One Man's Junk to show viewers how to make money purchasing and selling various items. He has hosted the show since 2012.

In recent years, Mr. Francis has concurrently served in executive sales capacities at Grove Group Management and Sovereignport, LLC. Supplementing his expertise in sales and business management, he is knowledgeable about cryptocurrency and has delivered several presentations on the topic. He has also owned multiple restaurants, and holds a patent for a seat belt for buses.
