A principal at Slate Property Group for the past six years, David Schwartz manages development and construction for a number of multi-family housing and mixed-use property projects, in addition to collaborating with other members of his team to make investments and acquisitions. Currently, David Schwartz and his company are developing more than 4,000 apartments in New York City valued at more than $4 billion.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Schwartz has co-founded several New York City development firms, including Brooklyn-focused Rush Brook Partners and Lux Capital. He holds a bachelor of science in finance from Syracuse University.
In addition to his role at his current company, Mr. Schwartz sits on the boards of various organizations involved in the development of affordable housing in New York. These include the Kuhn Real Estate Center at Syracuse University, the Citizens Housing and Planning Council, and the New York State Association for Affordable Housing. He also supports charitable organizations such as Horizons at Brooklyn Friends, an academic enrichment program serving low-income public school children.
