Cluster Medical Head, East Africa

- Leading a medical affairs team of 18, comprising of 5 medical advisors and 13 medical science liaisons across 6 East African countries which include Kenya, Ethiopia, Sudan, Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania. The market size consists of 300 million people with unique health systems and reimbursement models.
- Responsible for diverse therapy areas and portfolios in ophthalmology, neuroscience, cardio-metabolic, oncology and communicable diseases.
- Provide strategic guidance to the medical affairs team along our 3 priority areas which include data dissemination, data generation and stakeholder management.
- Spearhead our launch excellence agenda with innovative pre-launch medical activities and stakeholder engagements. Objective is to gather early insights, communicate portfolio value, map the patient journey and shape organizational strategy.
- Advocate for scientific expertise within the medical affairs team through trainings to facilitate peer to peer relationships with the healthcare community.
- Establish partnerships with like minded entities to develop synergies which can help improve access to treatment, mitigate gaps within the patient journey and optimize the health systems.
- Reinforce our compliance and governance principles around engagement of stakeholders, scientific activities and external funding.
- Present value-based and beyond-the-pill solutions to our payor communities in order to highlight the long term benefits in quality of life of our innovations.
Medical Advisor -Ophthalmology and Immuno-hepato-dermatology ( IHD )

Covering three large countries i.e. Sudan, Kenya and Ethiopia with a total population of around 200 million people. The portfolio is quite diverse with 20 plus products under the franchise. Directly responsible for 4 medical science liaisons (MSLs) across the various countries.
