Dr Toby Meltzer

Accomplished Gender Confirmation Surgeon

Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, Dr. Toby Meltzer leads as president of The Meltzer Clinic, PC, which he established in 1996. Prior to founding his private practice, Dr. Toby Meltzer attended Louisiana State University (LSU), where he earned recognition for his outstanding work at the College of Chemistry and Physics before going on to earn a MD at the medical school. 

Dr. Meltzer received additional medical training at the Charity Hospital of Louisiana, where he held an internship and residency in general surgery. He later completed a residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Michigan and a fellowship in burn surgery at Detroit Receiving Hospital. 

In addition to managing his Scottsdale practice, Dr. Meltzer has served as an assistant clinical professor in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Oregon Health Sciences University. He previously led as chief of the division of plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Portland, Oregon. A strong supporter of LGBT rights, he frequently works with patients undergoing gender confirmation surgeries.
