Elizabeth Lowery

Illinois Speech/Language Pathologist

A graduate of Governors State University with a master of science in communication disorders, Elizabeth Lowery received a bachelor of science in speech and hearing science from the University of Illinois-Urbana. She began her career as a traveling speech/language pathologist at several acute care hospitals in Michigan and Indiana, followed by several years working in Chicago, Illinois public schools. In the latter role, Elizabeth “Betsy” Lowery conducted assessments and provided therapy for students with a variety of developmental and cognitive diagnoses.

From 2007 to 2020, Betsy Lowery owned and operated Little You, where she offered a range of speech, occupational, and developmental therapy services for children. Working with special populations including children with Down syndrome or autism spectrum disorder, she provided interventions aimed at improving speech, communication skills and feeding/swallowing skills. She continues to provide direct services to the infant, toddler, early childhood and school aged populations .

To stay current on topics in her field, Ms. Lowery maintains membership in professional organizations such as the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. In her free time, she enjoys building Lego creations with her son and spending time outdoors.
