Gregory Tapson

Physician and Nursing Facility Medical Director


A summa cum laude biochemistry graduate of the University of California, San Diego, Gregory Tapson, MD, earned a doctor of medicine from the University of Southern California in 1989, following which he completed a residency at Silas B. Hays Army Hospital. He began his career doing rounds at local hospitals in California, a practice he maintained for 25 years. In 1996, Dr. Gregory Tapson established his current private practice in Carmel, California, where he specializes in geriatrics and internal medicine and maintains availability for his trusted patients 24 hours a day and seven days a week.


In addition to treating patients at his private practice, Dr. Gregory Tapson conducts weekly visits to a local retirement facility and serves as medical director of Cypress Ridge Skilled Nursing Facility, where he sees roughly 100 patients per month. Supplementing his pursuits in the medical field, he holds membership with the American Academy of Family Practice. In his free time, Dr. Tapson enjoys writing and playing music as well as watching his favorite Bay Area sports teams, including the Golden State Warriors and San Francisco Giants.
