Autobiography

My name is Yung-Han, Cheng.  I'm 27 years old, and I hold a Bachelor’s degree with a major in biotechnology and laboratory science in medicine awarded by National Yang-Ming University, and a Master's degree with a major in toxicology awarded by National Taiwan University.

In 2015, during the summer vacation of my sophomore year, I joined a laboratory in my department and did an independent study, in which I investigated the promoter activity of a gene in a kind of bacteria.  I've learned the technique of bacterial culture and gene cloning in my study.

In 2017~2019, when I was in the graduate school of NTU, my thesis was to figure out the roles of extracellular vesicles in sarcopenia.  During my research, aside from the techniques I acquired in my sophomore year, I also utilized the following lab techniques:

-Cell Culture

-Fluorescent Microscopy

-Western Blotting

-Animal Model (Tube Feeding, Sacrifice, Organ Harvesting)

-qPCR

-Extracellular Vesicles Extraction

I am employed at Union Clinical Laboratory in Taipei City as a medical scientist after I graduated from NTU in 2019, and I am responsible for:

- Medical test instrument quality control

- Reagent inventory, purchase, lot-to-lot acceptance

- Examination of samples from the outpatient department and other medical facilities

- Phlebotomy

- Before-test counseling

- Test report explanation

I am willing to accept different tasks, and I have great learning ability.  I am capable of 3 job positions in my team (2 job positions on average with the same seniority), which helps me know the clinical significance of more examinations and be able to introduce the suitable ones to our customers.  I also cooperated with my team leader in editing SOPs so we can work more efficiently, and new employees can understand more quickly about the job position.

My English ability is accredited by TOEFL ITP.  Moreover, I can do English counseling with foreigners, which proves my English speaking skills.
