Industry-academia Cooperation with

SUNLIT Transportation CO., LTD. 

  1. Developed an AI system based on computer vision for detecting whether truckers are doing dangerous behavior by applying proposed methods in deep learning and computer vision.
  2. Trained YOLOv3 and LSTM tackling with spatio-temporal data and combined it with AdaBoost (Ensemble Learning).
  3. Improved the accuracy of detecting misconduct from 78.65% using yolov3 to 95.47 using the proposed method.
  4. Saved about 1/200 times for detecting dangerous behavior by this system compared to being operated by humans.

  1. Developed a system by OpenCV using C++ to read video data from cameras on the street and highway to determine traffic jams and find available parking slots on streets and managing cameras by building the dashboard of Zoneminder.

Kaggle M5 Forecasting Analysis & Prediction

  1. Executed data cleaning, exploratory data analysis based on different products and observation of relationships between columns.

Analysis of Comprehending Amazon Co-purchasing Strategy by Social Network Properties

  1. Analyzed data of "Amazon product co-purchasing network metadata" from Stanford Network Analysis Project (SNAP) by calculating (1) average degree (2) average clustering coefficient (3) diameter. 
  2. Organized the statistics that there are only 2.7 products on average exposed to customers at the same time and only 0.39 possibilities of products are connected.
  3. Interpreted results based on the analysis that Amazon can add more strategies (e.g. multiple tagging) to products to control the exposure of co-purchased products.

Word Cloud Visualization and Crowd Mining of Politicians in Taiwan

  1. Developed web crawler to fetch data at the PTT forum in Taiwan and organize crawed data by word segmentation tool "Jieba" in python.
  2. Extracted essential statistics of Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) to represent the occurring frequency associated with certain politicians in Taiwan.
  3. Analyzed crowd opinion on specific politicians in different forums by visualizing keywords in the word cloud.
