One of my dreams in life is to have different life experiences. I believe that “life begins at the end of your comfort zone”, so that was when I decided to go on a working holiday to Ireland last year. It was my first time living in another country for such a long time; one year. I faced a lot of new challenges and experiences and met a lot of new people and made a lot of new friends that spoke different languages and had come from different countries. From that experience, everything starts from zero. Because of these experiences, they helped me learn more about myself and taught me how to overcome challenges and solve problems, all while far away from home.
I enjoy teaching Mandarin and I enjoy practising English through language exchanges so I can contribute more in my work as a social worker and personal trainer. I want to travel so I can experience a different culture which will benefit both Taiwanese and foreigners I interact with in Taiwan. I graduated from Ming-hsin University, Taiwan with a Bachelor of Senior Citizen and Service Management. I majored in social work courses, including 122 volunteer hours in nursing homes or hospitals catering to the elderly. Post-graduation, I worked in a rural nursing home, where I planned daily activities for residents, assisting them doing everyday tasks, and most of all learning to understand their challenges so I could improve their lives. These experiences also helped me grow as a person and to see the world in very realistic light. In addition to my major at school, I minored in sports management. I eventually became a licensed fitness instructor and worked in a gym for just over one year. Being both a personal trainer and a social worker allowed me to see the potential in people. I enjoy communicating with people on many levels, either in Chinese or English. However, I want to learn Spanish as well.
