Staging Your Home

When potential buyers come in to view your home in Honolulu, you'll want to play up your home's strengths and beauty. Luckily, making your home look more attractive to buyers doesn't have to cost you a lot of money. There's no need to hire an expensive professional: just use these simple tips to have your home looking polished and ready in no time at all!

 Keep It Clean and Clutter-Free

The most important step to staging your home is removing clutter. Clutter can often make rooms appear smaller. Buyers like to see neat and open areas, so make the most of your space. Make sure you also keep your home smelling fresh. Eliminate orders from cigarette smoke or pets. Air out your home and use air fresheners -- but remember to avoid lighting overly potent candles or using strong sprays. To get an idea of what other homes for sale in Honolulu look like, you can visit a real estate site. There you can see how best to prepare the look of your home for sale.

Don't Underestimate the Power of Paint

A new layer of paint can sometimes make a world of a difference. Fixing the chipped and cracked paint on your porch can stop buyers from thinking about what needs work and instead leave them with the impression that your home has a beautiful outdoor space.

Painting the walls a neutral colour can also make rooms appear bigger and allow the buyer to envision how they could make the space their own. Although your daughter probably loved the bright purple walls in your furnished basement that you used as her playroom, the buyer may not. Instead, they may want to use this space as an office or media room. A light cream colour will allow them to see the room as more functional.

However, don't completely rule out colour. A deep blue in the dining room can make the room look more elegant and impressive. Use colour when you want to highlight a room and really bring out a space's strengths.

Bright Lights and Flowers

Buyers love homes that look bright and cheery. Make sure your home is well lit by placing lamps around the room and using higher voltage light bulbs. Flowers are also a wonderful way to brighten up your space, and plants can make a room really come to life. Use decorative flowers in the kitchen or in the entryway of your home to make a great first impression!

Accessorize!

It only takes a little bit of effort and a few nice accessories to give a drab bathroom a relaxing and luxurious look. Pick a consistent colour to use throughout the room and coordinate the shower curtain, bathmat, and towels. You can also place out a set of scented candles in various heights. Stick to odd numbers and group display items together in threes or fives. Professional stagers also use mirrors, paintings, and area rugs to dress up a home. These items can hide minor faults like a crack in the wall or woodwork. They can also make your space appear more cosy. It's amazing how a few great accessories can make your home look instantly more desirable!
