James Walden

James "Jim" Walden joined Clayton Wealth Partners (based in Topeka and Lawrence, Kansas) in 2013. He is a partner, the chief investment officer, and member of the registered investment advisor's management team. As CIO, he is responsible for the firm's investment strategies and investment operations.

As part of that, he determines asset allocation and investment selection across client portfolios, as well as appropriate risk management.

In addition to his work helping lead Clayton Wealth Partners, James Walden serves as the elected president of the board at Just Food.

Mr. Walden graduated with high distinction from an undergraduate accounting program at Indiana University. After achieving his Bachelor of Science degree, Jim Walden continued his education, earning his Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in investment management and research at The Johnson School at Cornell University. In addition to numerous on-campus activities, he was named a Park Leadership Fellow in recognition of academic excellence, community service, and leadership capabilities.
