Experienced Corporate Purchasing Director Joel Feigenheimer is a valued professional with Miami-based China Grill Management, Inc. A restaurant owner before joining China Grill Management, Joel Feigenheimer has brought a wealth of hospitality and purchasing experience to his current employer. Mr. Feigenheimer oversees all aspects of purchasing, including bulk products and services for more than 25 fine-dining restaurants in the United States, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. In his role, Joel Feigenheimer negotiates for and purchases more $30 million of foodstuff each year, acting as the main point of contact between multiple distributors and vendors. Mr. Feigenheimer also maintains and implements company standards as they relate to bar policies and other guidelines. Over his more than nine years with the company, Joel Feigenheimer has solidified a network of important relationships with multiple vendors responsible for supplying timely food and services. Joel Feigenheimer delivers positive results by driving down purchasing costs and increasing profitably, an annual goal the company strives to achieve each year. 

Before working for China Grill Management, Joel Feigenheimer owned and operated an upscale restaurant called the The Cranberry Bog in upstate New York. Mr. Feigenheimer’s restaurant, known for its specialized menu of the freshest seafood and beef available, quickly gained widespread acclaim and allowed him to branch out into other revenue-generating areas. One such example is Mr. Feigenheimer’s full-service catering company, Bog Events, which offers great food and customer service in a country club setting. Bog Events creatively partners with a country club facility, allowing it to cater large events, like weddings, for up to 4,000 people. 

Currently, Joel Feigenheimer uses his talents to teach students who are interested in restaurant and hospitality careers. Students seeking to gain more knowledge can register for classes taught by Mr. Feigenheimer, who serves as Adjunct Professor of Purchasing and Menu Planning at Florida International University. His coursework covers subjects such as sustainability, inventory control, and ethics. 

Joel Feigenheimer laid the educational foundation for his career at the State University of New York at Delhi, where he obtained an A.A.S. in Nutrition and Restaurant Management. Determined to advance his education even further, Mr. Feigenheimer also received a Bachelor’s degree in Restaurant Management from the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration. Joel Feigenheimer is currently enrolled in a Hospitality Management M.B.A. program and expects to graduate in 2012.
